Beschreibung

Approximately one-third of the worlds population uses traditional biomass for cooking using inecient cook stoves. The use of these forms of energy is associated with environmental as well as human health impacts. The inecient combustion from these cook stoves results to high levels of indoor air pollution from solid fuel use. These emissions have been responsible for high annual deaths and global diseases. The major health ailments are lower respiratory infection deaths among children and chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases deaths among adults. In this book ethanol gel as an alternative clean fuel is suggested. The performance of locally used cook stoves using these fuel was analyzed. Thereafter a better cook stove designed and fabricated. On testing the improved cook stove was found to have better combustion and heat transfer characteristics. Hence suggested as the most appropriate cook stove for application in low income rural areas as well as in middle income earners in urban household areas.
